DEIONIZER APS-198

INTRODUCTION & APPLICATIONS

  • Water is one of the most abundant natural elements. It is also one of the most contaminated ones. A number of minerals dissolve into water. They have to be removed from the raw water before it can be used for any industrial application.
  • A demineraliser removes these minerals from the raw water by an ion- exchange process. This process first exchanges the cations of the salts for the hydrogen ions and, then exchanges the anions of the salts for the hydroxy ions. "MAC" water demineralisers employ the modern on- exchange technology to give you chemically pure water.
  • In these days Softening of Water is almost exclusively effected by Ion Exchangers. In this process the calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged by sodium ions, so that the hardness forming components are converted into sodium sodium salts. Softening is carried out by simple filtration through the exchange material.
  • When the exchange material is exhausted, it requires regeneration. The calcium and magnesium ions which were taken up before are then displaced by sodium ions and flow out together with the regeneration water. The capacities between regeneration and quality of treated water will however vary according to the raw water.
  • Available in following variants
  • DOUBLE BED UNIT (CA)
    1. DOUBLE STAGE DOUBLE BED UNIT
    2. DOUBLE BED MIXED BED UNIT
  • MIXED BED UNIT (MB)
  • FOUR BED UNIT (FB)

DOUBLE BED UNIT (CA)

  • APS Deionizer consists of an in - built prefilter and very high exchanging capacity non - corrosive CATION and ANION resin columns prefilled with RESINS for efficient results having treated water parameter conforming to IS-1069 / 64. It yields chemically pure water equal to multiple distilled water having a conductivity of less than 10 micro-siemens /cm and pH of 7.5 to 9 pH. Fitted with a sturdy PVC multi - control valve and can be connected direct to water taps. Fitted with digital conductivity meter. Supplied with one plastic chemical proof regeneration tank. Complete unit in housed in a painted M.S trolley for easy mobility.
  • Basic models consisting of a CATION and ANION column for general laboratory applications where municipal tap water quality is generally good and fall in the range of upto 300 ppm. For hard ground water as a input source these models breakdown frequently requiring frequent regeneration processes and thus damaging resins of cation and anion columns.

DOUBLE STAGE DOUBLE BED UNIT

  • For input tap/ raw water having TDS between 500- 600 ppm it is advised to install two DOUBLE BED UNITS (CA Series) of the same capacity in combination / series . This system works as a DOUBLE STAGE DOUBLE BED UNIT (i.e CATION-ANION-CATION-ANION) to achieve a conductivity of less than 10 ms/cm and a pH of 7.5-9.0.

    DOUBLE BED MIXED BED UNIT

  • For input tap/ raw water having TDS upto 300 ppm, it is advised to install MIXED BED UNIT (MB Series) in combination/series to a DOUBLE BED UNIT (CA Series) of the same capacity (i.e CATION-ANION-MIXED BED) to achieve a conductivity of less than 2 ms/cm and pH of 6.8-7.2.

    MIXED BED UNIT (MB)
    FEATURES

    • Unique digital conductivity meter fitted with unit.
    • MB Unit has to be operated a polishing unit running in series with CA or FB Model demineralisers.
    • Due to intimate mixing of Cation & Anion Resins in as single column the demineralised water is of consistenly neutral purity.
    • Electrical Conductivity of the deionised water is less than 1 ms/cm and pH is 6.8 - 7.2.
    • Treats water having TDS from 50-100 ppm.
    • Digital Conductivity meter operates on AC.
    • Air displacement systems.
    • Clean continuous ion exchange process.
    • Multivalve Systems for easy operation & regeneration..
    • Easily portable metal stand and trolley.

Mixed bed units are normally operated as a POLISHING UNIT running in series with a double bed CA Model or a four bed FB Model of a similar capacity / flow rate. Due to intimate mixing of Cation and Anion exchange resins in a single column the final water produced is of consistently neutral quality with conductivity of water being less than 2 ms/cm and pH of 6.8 - 7.2. These independent Models can be ordered for your existing CA/FB Models. Models of capacity MB 300 and above need MINI Air Compressor for resin mixing. And this has to be arranged by the customer on their own or can be supplied at extra cost.

    OPTION

  • (a) Air Compressor for Capacity of 300 Ltrs and above, required for regular resin mixing.

  • FOUR BED UNIT (FB)

    FEATURES

  • Unique digital conductivity meter fitted with unit.
  • Four bed Demineraliser consists pre-filter, activated carbon fitted prior to Cation & Anion columns. Before demineralisation is undertaken
  • the water must be made free as fully as possible of organic substances, colloidal and suspended substances. This is ensured by passing
  • water through pre-filter and followed by activated carbon column, then the water directed to a line of demineralisation.
  • The Pre-Filter and Activated Carbon (Column 1 & Column 2) remove suspended and undissolved matter and also gaseous impurities and
  • reduce the load on the ion exchanger columns (3&4) for increased capacity and purity.
  • It removes color odour turbidity etc from the input raw water and as a result the purity of the treated water will be consistent. The life of
  • The resin becomes more and the frequency of resin backwash and regeneration becomes less frequent.
  • The purity of treated water will be < 10 Microsiemens/cm. Conductivity displayed on a digital conductivity meter.
  • Treats water having turbidity, smell etc and with raw water TDS upto 300 PPM.
  • The treated water will have the conductivity of less 10ms/cm and pH of 7.5-9.
  • Most preferred systems to double bed CA series units, where input raw water has smell / odour and has high suspended undissolved matter, organic and colloidal substances with gaseous impurities, which is taken care of by a PRE-FILTER. The pre-filtered water is passed through a carbon filter for taking care of gaseous impurities and smell / odour. This process reduces load on the following ion -exchange cation and anion columns. Most ideal system where input / raw water TDS is below 300 ppm.
